Alisha is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia. Her desire to be a part of education reform started when she realized she was not equipped to attend college. Academically and socially, she was not ready. She made excellent grades, participated in sports and clubs and was very active in church, however, she did not understand how to connect all that learning with living. After years of college and deliberating between careers in real estate investing, business management law, and volunteering in her mother’s classroom, she decided to pursue a degree in education. Serving the students in the public school system brought awareness and a sense of concern as she quickly became bothered by the systems and politics that drive the public schools. In an effort to not complain, she decided to act. The Village is a result of that action.

If you ask Alisha what she does and or what her educational passions are, she will say:

Facilitates the learning of  the power of the mind to students and adults.

Encourages the fact that everything that is needed in already in an individual.

Helps shift perceptions

Encourage self awareness and mindfulness

Encourage the belief that realities are created with the mind, and once realized an individual can do All things

Provide awareness, education and resources to students and adults in regards to subjects that are not commonly taught in urban public schools.

Alisha currently resides in the Virginia Beach area. She is the mother of four wonderful children. She holds an Ed.S from Regent University in Educational Leadership, a M.Ed in Special Education and a B.S degree in Organizational Leadership & Management. She has experience in counseling & mental health, special education K-12 & coaching. Her passion is bringing awareness to individuals through reading, writing and crafting.
